Hi! My name is Daphne. I’m a cute, 1-year-old, mini lab. My foster mom thinks I might be part beagle, but nobody knows for certain. I only weigh about 38 pounds, and I’m the perfect size.
I’m a little shy, but that’s only because this is the first time I have ever had a safe home. I’m a little fearful of new people, but that’s only because when I lived under an abandoned shed, folks would shoo me away and throw rocks at me.
I was a young mom, but that’s only because I wasn’t spayed. I’m a little silly, but that’s only because for the first time in my life that I don’t have to search for food and can enjoy being a silly dog. I’m not your best friend, but that’s only because you haven’t met me yet.
Won’t you give me a chance and come meet me? I am shy at first, but I warm up quickly to those with a tender hand, and, once I do, you will see me performing silly puppy antics, and licking your face. I’d do best in a quieter home and would love to be the only dog, so I can get all your attention. I will be devoted to you in return. I even give hugs!
To meet and hopefully adopt Daphne, visit theĀ Animal Adoption League of Charlotte. The Animal Adoption League is a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to saving homeless pets. They offer veterinary care, foster care and an adoption outlet for animals. Hundred of animals previously homeless are now in permanent, loving homes as a result of League efforts.
