12 artists vying for DNC poster credit

A dozen graphic designers are eagerly awaiting your votes as one of their designs has made the finals in a 2012 Democratic National Convention poster contest where winning could place their work in the national spotlight as the official poster.

One of the 12 finalists

The Democratic National Convention will undoubtedly put many local Charlotteans on a national stage that some may have only dreamed about. Local businesses, politicians, and even artists are clawing their way to the spotlight that could catapult their career and boost their resumes.

No exception are the 12 local graphic designers that have been distiguished as finalists in the DNC poster contest.

The contest which launched back in November gave the artists a few guidelines and the rest was up to them. All that was asked was that they create an original 18-inch-by-24-inch poster using the 2012 Democratic National Convention official logo and incorporating and interpreting one (or more) of the following themes:
1) Americans Coming Together
2) Building a Better Future
3) Opportunity and Empowerment

The entries were due on December 31st and after 300 entries, there are just 12 finalists left.

“It’s incredibly humbling…The fact that they noticed and I made the top 12 is an honor beyond belief,” one finalist, Tommy Feldman told WCNC.
